KEEP OHIO BLUE Gala Sept 15, 2010

The "Keep Ohio Blue" gala event will be at the Worthington Holiday Inn, 7007 North High Street, just south of I-270, on Wednesday evening, Sept. 15, from7 til 9 p.m.

It will be a chance to meet approximately 22 Democratic candidates for office. Speakers will include Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher as keynote speaker, former Sen. John Glenn, Yvette McGee Brown, candidate for lieutenant governor; Franklin County Clerk of Courts Maryellen O'Shaughnessy, candidate for Secretary of State; Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks, candidate for the U.S. Congress from the 12th District; Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Brown, candidate for that office; Judge Mary Jane Trapp, candidate for associate Supreme Court justice.

First Lady Frances Strickland will sing. Other candidates who have confirmed their attendance but will not be speakers include: Ohio State Rep. Nancy Garland, State Rep. Marian Harris, State Rep. John Carney, State Rep. Ted Celeste, State Rep. W. Carlton Weddington; David Robinson, candidate for the state House; Mark Pfeifer, candidate for the 3rd District state Senate seat; Franklin Co. Commissioner Marilyn Brown, candidate for re-election; Terry Brown, candidate for Franklin Co. auditor; Judges Julia Dorrian, Laurel Beatty and Kimberly Cocroft; and judicial candidates Michael Bivens, Ronald Plymale, Jamie Campbell and Mark Serrott.

There is no admission charge. Light appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.

The event is sponsored by the Coalition of Democratic and Progressive Organizations of Central Ohio. Gahanna Progressives is one group in the coalition. All members and their spouses, friends, etc. are invited. The more, the merrier. No RSVP. Just show up. Meet Senator Glenn, get his autograph, etc.

The idea for the event is to energize our grassroots supporters and re-energize friends we haven't seen since the '08 campaign.
